Html Linking
Creating a link to another page in your site or to another website all together is not a very hard thing to do, but there is a proper way to link. All new webmasters should make this the very first lesson they learn, although not necessarily the first thing they do. The first thing any new webmaster should do is choose a market they want to compete in and the keyword phrases they are going to use. An html link looks like this <a href=”http://www.pagename.com”>anchor text</a> the part we want everyone to learn about is the anchor text. Anchor text is the keywords that your site is targeting. Lets say that you have a site about pest control and the keywords you are targeting are “pest control”, when you link to that site you should use the words pest control as the anchor text and not the words “click here”. When you use the correct anchor text it builds a reference as to what the page you are sending the visitor to is about. You can learn more about anchor text and choosing keywords by visiting html linking at netrat.com. As you can see the page that I am linking to is about html linking and the link you would click on to go there is a natural way to let the visitor know where you are sending them.
